Book in a Box
We (classes 6a and 6d) started this book project instead of doing normal classwork. Our teacher gave us the homework to read an English book of our choice over the Christmas holidays. After the holidays, we all brought a shoebox to school and started decorating it to match our book. Some of us painted the box, others glued pictures or made small models inside. It was really fun to be creative and think about how to show the story in a box.
But that was not all! We also wrote a summary of the book, explaining what happened in the story. Then, we wrote a review where we shared our opinion about the book. Some of us also described the main characters, their personalities, and what they did in the story. It was interesting to see how different all the books were.
During the working phase, we could talk to each other, share ideas, and get inspiration from our classmates. Everyone was very focused, and we helped each other with creative ideas. After about two and a half weeks, we finally presented our book boxes in front of the class. Each person explained their book, their decoration, and their opinion about the story.
The feedback we got was very positive, and it was exciting to see so many different books and creative boxes. I think this was a really great and exciting project because we could read, be creative, and work together. It was much more fun than just writing a normal book report!
